She likes to call herself SYNTHESIS, The Sultry Funk Diva. In actuality, synthesis is more of a daily practice for Stephanie Renée than a moniker. The Philadelphia-based ingénue has a special knack for bringing different people, styles and skills together and improving them somehow. But by no means is it her only gift.

A humble servant to the arts, Stephanie uses her music to bring greater understanding and upliftment to her audiences. With songwriting and vocal abilities that groove and dip across genre, she masterfully combines influences from jazz, soul, house and rock music into a mix of rhythms that seduces and entrances her listeners. Simply put, Stephanie Renée is a performer who instinctively tunes into the audience and makes folks feel good.

After a three-year stint as a featured vocalist at Zanzibar Blue, Philadelphia’s premier jazz venue, Stephanie withdrew from the allure of live performance to dedicate herself to a more diligent pursuit of other artistic interests. Her subsequent successes as a documentary filmmaker, recording artist and poet accurately reflect the results of her focused effort and considerable talent.
